Yes exactly! I expect monitors, but earplugs like you get at the hardware store? But this got me thinking, and back in the 80s when I was going to a ton of shows, the monitors were speakers blaring back at them on the stage! Van Halen used to wear regular earplugs because they could hear the music but it would drowned out some of the crowd noise! So maybe he had a monitor in one ear and this earplug in the other! Who knows! It just caught my eye! (:

I didn't even notice those. They look like regular ear plugs, but I know a lot of musicians use in ear monitor type things so they can hear how they sound with the band while playing better or something like that, not sure though!
